Approval of the sale of hard wheat for private mills
In response to one of the recommendations of the third industrial conference, the Syrian Grain Foundation agreed to sell quantities of durum grain to the private sector mills. The price per kilogram of durum wheat was set at 231 Syrian pounds.
The Chamber of Industry of Aleppo received a letter from the Syrian Grain Foundation in this regard, including a request from the Chamber to provide the institution with a letter containing the name of the establishment wishing to obtain durum wheat and the required quantity and production capacity and the purpose of using grain to be approved by the Prime Minister on each case.
The decision will contribute to the operation of private mills, meet the needs of the local market, export surplus quantities of the local market, and encourage owners of damaged mills to maintain, rehabilitate and operate their facilities.
Those wishing to order hard wheat can refer to the Aleppo Chamber of Industry during working hours for more information and to determine the quantities they wish to rent.
There are 40 special mills in Aleppo governorate and 20 of them have been rehabilitated and equipped during the last period. The said decision will encourage the owners of the rest of the mills to speed up their rehabilitation and operation again.
