Goldsmiths Association notes the importance of the presence of the letter (m) on the goldsmith .. For this reason
Ghassan Jazmati, president of the Association of Goldsmiths and Jewelers in Damascus, said that the association was keen to limit the presence of “bale” gold on the facades of the goldsmiths shops. / M / which symbolizes the collection of the consumer spending fee for this piece, the patrols of the Assembly toured the shops of goldsmiths and violated a number of goldsmiths to sell these jewels, where the owner of the shop is supposed to go to the Assembly to stamp or need to be melted.
He pointed out that gold prices rose by the end of this week by about 1100 Syrian pounds per gram, as a result of the high price of an ounce globally, which amounted to 1515 dollars.
A 21-carat gold gram was priced at 27,300 liras. Pricing was based on an average dollar of 620 liras.
Jazmati explained that sales are low, and recorded no more than one kilogram per day during the past week, as a result of the situation in the eastern region, where the city of Qamishli is a major market for goldsmiths in Damascus, but during the last period has not been to enter or remove any gold to and from Al-Qamishli.
He pointed out that the Association's patrols on the markets are currently being intensified to control irregularities and cases of manipulation and fraud that have increased recently, as a result of the period that stopped stamping gold, pending the treatment of consumer spending fee with the financial, where cases of manipulation and the sale of non-stamped gold, or sale Bala gold is considered to be new gold, in which case the jeweler places the wage and stamping fees on the goods as new, and collects the wages for himself, while they are gold pieces used and previously paid wages and fees.
Jazmati mentioned that there were other cases received by the association about the presence of laser gold machines in a number of craftsmen, through which they standardize gold, but these machines are not accredited by the association.
The results of these machines are inaccurate, as the result of their caliber is less than the correct caliber, and they are used for household purposes only. Their caliber is correct. Therefore, the society has circulated that the inspection is done through the special representative of the association and any person who has a laser machine and examines the gold on it is considered a violation.
Jazmati stressed that every craftsman who holds a mobile card and sells gold goods from outside the governorate of Damascus should consult the association before selling his goods in the markets in order to obtain a license from the association for sale. Any craftsman found to be dealing with this mobile vendor without obtaining a license is also responsible for the violation and penalties.
