In a repeat of last year's scenario with the onset of winter and rain, significant damage was recorded in some of the industrial establishments located in the fifth sector in the industrial city of Adra, which caused, as every time, the formation of a large torrent, due to the fact that the industrial city is not equipped and engineered and studied to face such Natural phenomena in terms of securing flood channels and drainage of rainwater, and this technical imbalance that brought on the livelihoods of industrialists.
As a result of these developments, the Governor of Damascus countryside, Alaa Mounir Ibrahim, and the President of Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Dr. Samer Al-Dibs, visited the industrial city of Adra to inspect the damages and see the problems faced by the owners of industrial establishments in these circumstances.
Some of the problems that hampered the owners of the industrial establishments in the region during the rains were the formation of torrents and the blockage of sewage sewage collecting rainwater, which resulted in lack of drainage. A number of owners of the establishments hastened to put earth mounds on the doors of the facilities to prevent water from entering, but the water level led to the leakage inside the facilities, and some pointed out that the main cause of this incident is the demolition of part of the earth barrier set up to protect the area from the flood as a precautionary measure Some have opened it, in addition to the unavailability of the drainage channels that have been set up by the government to date.
During his visit to the work site of the construction of drainage channels and inspection of damages, the Governor stressed that the ferry will be completed as soon as possible. Dr. Samer Al-Dibs stressed the need to form a special investigation committee to know the consequences of the demolition of the embankment, and the continuous follow-up with Rif Damascus governorate to provide all the precautionary requirements and procedures to reduce this damage.
