The governor of Deir Ezzor, Abdul Majid Kawakbi, said that the bridge "comes in response to the need and demands of the people in the northern countryside to establish a bridge linking the banks of the Euphrates River and allows them to communicate with the rest of the province after the US coalition destroyed the bridges between the two banks of the river in the province as part of a campaign to destroy Systematically affected the economic and infrastructure of our country. ”
Al-Kawakibi said that the bridge will be a developmental, economic and social lifeline that allows people to communicate with their relatives, in addition to transporting goods and agricultural crops between the Syrian island region and the rest of the province and from there to other governorates.
