Syria is considering linking the port of Imam Khomeini to the port of Latakia
The Ministry of Transport revealed in a report, the discussion of the project linking the port of Imam Khomeini, located on the Iranian side of the Gulf waters with the port of Latakia on the Mediterranean Sea, in addition to the project linking the cities of Shalmagh Iran and Basra with a length of 32 km implementation and financing from Iran Linking Basra to the port of Latakia.

She stressed that this line is part of the axis of international transport west-east Syrian ports through Aleppo to Iraq, Iran and East Asian countries and is a strategic passage for Syria and Iraq in the field of transit.
The ministry pointed out in a report on the reality of Syrian railways in the eastern region, that the railway from Aleppo - to Raqqa - Deir Ezzor - Hasaka - Qamishli - Yarubiyah - the Iraqi border with a length of 612 km, which is an existing and invested before the global war on Syria.
While the length of the railway from Deir ez-Zor to Qamishli through Hasakeh is 220 km, a line with the specifications of the current Syrian railways and an investment polar load / 20 / tons.
