In a bid to create a safe and stable environment for the resumption of industrial activity, the Ministry of Industry, at the invitation of the Minister of Industry, Mr. Mohammed Maan Jazbeh, held a meeting with the President of Damascus Chamber of Industry and its countryside, Dr. Samer Al-Dibs, and a number of members of the Board of Directors.
The Minister of Industry stressed the importance of evaluating industrial performance digitally and enhancing production scientifically and technically in order to contribute to the improvement of work and the need to preserve the quality of the Syrian product and develop it according to several axes.The priority comes the support of the national product and the enhancement of Syrian industrial production. The Minister praised the Syrian industrialist who was able to prove himself through the presence of Syrian products in the international markets.
He stressed the need to increase the percentage of effective contribution to the GDP, eliminate unemployment and increase the process of import substitution and secure export strategic products, and pointed out that the ministry seeks to develop the enabling environment for the private sector, through supporting and supporting industrialists who continued production despite all the difficulties experienced by Syria During the war.
The President of the Chamber praised the great work and individual efforts made by the Minister, which are in the public interest, and reviewed several topics and stressed the commitment of the Chamber in the initiative launched by the Federation of Chambers of Industry and Commerce to support the Lira, stressing the joint and permanent cooperation with the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Industry. Activating the role of the committees formed by the Chamber, including the Committee on Export and Foreign Trade, and noted the importance of opening the crossing Albukamal to increase exports significantly.
Al-Debs pointed out the date of the fourth industrial conference which will be held on November 23 in Damascus under the title (production first). He pointed out that the chamber will follow up the organizational matters through a special committee.
In turn, the members of the Board of Directors raised several issues, including the extension of the preferential advantage of local public and private product by 15% for one year, considering the sheet material as a raw material in the engineering industry, stimulate the use of alternative energy in industrial facilities through financing programs and customs exemptions and grant a degree of dynamic discount on Income tax, speeding up the issuance of the Customs Identification Amendment Decree to eliminate distortions on production input fees, granting financial exemptions to enterprises located in the affected and re-production areas, supporting industrial and remote areas and facilitating the provision of services through a single window - The negative effects of increasing the prices of solvents, activation of cooperation agreements with Iraq.
